DRM+, a perfect complement to DAB/DAB+ in VHF band III
نویسندگان
چکیده
Technical investigations suggest that DRM+ is a suitable candidate for the transition from analogue FM to digital broadcasting in VHF band II (87.5 108.0 MHz) in Europe [2]. Unfortunately, there are mainly three major problems to solve: 1. VHF band II is historically defined for the use of analogue FM sound broadcasting, and, it is – as such – extensively used in Europe; 2. the lack of agreed coordination rules for using digital broadcasting services in this frequency band; 3. the lack of standardized measurement procedures to rate both the interference and the cross modulation potential of digital broadcasting services operating in VHF band II into other radio services, esp. into the aeronautical navigation services located above 108 MHz, namely ILS and VLS. The realistic but somewhat sad summary is simple: The deployment of DRM+ networks in VHF band II will not be possible in a mid-term.

A Novel Design in the Use of Planar Transformers for LDMOS Based Amplifiers in Bands II, III, DRM+, DVB-T and DAB+
The coaxial transformer-coupled push-pull circuitry has been used widely in HF and VHF amplifiers for many decades without significant changes in the topology of the transformers. Basic changes over the years concerned the construction and turns ratio of the transformers as has been imposed upon the newer technologies active devices demands. The balun transmission line transformers applied in p...
متن کاملDRM - the BBC World Service distribution chain
At the basic RF-channel level, DRM shares many characteristics with other modern systems such as DVB-T and DAB. It utilises Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (COFDM) [1][2] to combat noise, narrowband fading and multipath. Broadcasts can be synchronized to support Single-Frequency Networks (SFNs) and Multi-Frequency Networks (MFNs). One DRM service normally occupies one AM channe...

In this paper, together with its Part II, the impact of relaying and adaptive modulation and coding (AMC) on data throughput in narrowband wireless multi-hop networks is investigated. This part focuses on the physical layer of a single-carrier narrowband time division multiple access (TDMA) transmission in the very high frequency (VHF) band. The transmission chain is designed for a narrowband, ...
متن کاملDevelopment of Multi-Standard Digital Radio Chipset with Shared Logic and Memory
The digital transition of analog TV is rapidly taking place throughout the world. However, the digital transition of radio is progressing at a slower rate. Diverse standards are being considered for adoption and different countries have different frequencies allocated for digital radio. As a consequence, the progress in the development of digital radio receiver chipsets has been rather stagnant...

Background and purpose: The Persian Diagnostic Aphasia Battery (P-DAB-1) is one of the tests available for screening and determining the severity of aphasia. The test classifies the patients in seven major diagnostic classes based on the extent of the impairment in different linguistic modalities. The present study aimed to describe the pattern of linguistic impairment in four aphasic patients ...
